SENATE BILL NO. 237 "An Act increasing the number of superior                                       
court judges designated for the third judicial district, to provide                                 
additional superior court judges at Anchorage, Palmer, and Kenai; and                               
providing for an effective date" was read the second time.                                          
                                                                                                    
Senator Green, Cochair, moved and asked unanimous consent for the                                   
adoption of the Finance Committee Substitute offered on page 2234.                                  
Without objection, CS FOR SENATE BILL NO. 237(FIN) "An Act                                          
relating to the compensation of justices and judges, and to increasing                              
the number of superior court judges designated for the third and fourth                             
judicial districts; and providing for an effective date" was adopted.                               
                                                                                                    
Senator Seekins moved and asked unanimous consent that the                                          
Judiciary Committee Letter of Intent offered on page 2148 be adopted                                
as a Senate Letter of Intent. Without objection, the Senate Letter of                               
Intent was adopted.                                                                                 
                                                                                                    
President Stevens stated CS FOR SENATE BILL NO. 237(FIN) will                                       
be on the March 16 calendar.
